The Big Reveal: Panda for Desiigner

One of the best parts about creating custom artwork for clients is witnessing their reaction at the moment they receive the piece. Although I could not be present in Desiigner's New York studio, my dear friend captured the moment in which the packaged Panda was greeted with a..."DAMN!" The hip hop artist was astonished and failed to believe the original 19" x 24" framed drawing was made with color pencils on paper. I truly appreciate his admiration and look forward to working on more art in the future.

Here is the video as posted on @lifeofdesiigner's Instagram story.

White X6, Looks Like a Panda

I had the pleasure of creating a commission piece for the artist of one of the biggest break-through hits, Panda. This piece allowed me to fuse together my love for animals, music, marble, and art.

I aimed to create a piece that interprets the song with a mix of "old" and "new". The panda head derives from the single's album cover, but instead of a gold chain hanging around its neck, there is a crown of smoke representing the late, Notorious B.I.G.'s iconic image. This crown is a symbol of rap, success, and urban culture. The word Lexington appears within the smoke and ties in the street where Desiigner grew up. A back drop of white marble creates a refreshing and modern aesthetic that also links to some of my own work. By incorporating the past and the future we evolve into the present.

Santa Pug Lagerfeld for Christmas

How is it already December? This year has flickered by faster than the blink of an eye.

My favorite part about the holiday season, apart from family reunions, the smell of pine and hot chocolate,  and the sight of glittering lights everywhere, is setting up my Christmas decor. This year marks my first official Christmas tree living on my own. I opted for a minimal-modern approach throughout my apartment, selecting statement pieces that would tie the holidays together. My favorite piece is the Santa Lagerfeld Pug Pillow featuring my own illustration. The pillow complimented the colors of my apartment, brought in a very fun element, and mixed my love for dogs and high-fashion.
