Sophia Webster #PimpMyCoco Design Challenge

Sophia Webster announced another challenge in which she asked clients and fans to submit their interpretation of the 'Coco' pump. The style features a classic pump silhouette with a chic flamingo detailing on the stiletto heel. Luckily I heard of the challenge right on time (the night before), and went straight to work.

There is nothing more inspirational yet challenging than a blank canvas. I aimed to create a very "hands on" design by directly placing my artwork on the pump, thus incorporating my source of inspiration with a personal element. The flamingo motif of the Coco reminded me of my home, Miami; a city growing with culture, life, and entertainment. One of my favorite aspects of Miami is the rapidly flourishing art scene that is revered in the Wynwood Arts District and the yearly Art Basel phenomenon.

The base color of the shoe is a shade of blue reminiscent of the tropical weather and clear skies enjoyed year long. I then created layers of paint splatters in magenta, lilac, white, black, and rose gold to add the energy, passion, and fun element of Miami. Here is the final design of my submission Art Walk

Art Around the world

A year living in Europe warmed my heart and opened my eyes into an alternate lifestyle quite different to what I was used to. It seemed my days were geared towards pleasure and enjoyment, with "work" creeping into the crevices of the hours. I am not saying that hard work is not implemented into the day-to-day life in Europe, but rather that work itself is handled with care and love. I was able to witness first hand what it means to "work to live, not live to work". In those fleeting and wonderful moments in Madrid and travels around the globe, I gained

As I reminisce, I want to share with you a trio of paintings I created exclusively for KIS Interior Design. The paintings captured just a few of the client's favorite European destinations including London, Barcelona, and Rome. The style of the paintings alludes to fashion illustrations, with clean and crisp lines. Overall, the palette is kept simple and focuses entirely on the composition telling the story of a young girl on her journey  to self-discovery.

Madrid to Miami

Today marks two weeks since I moved back to Miami after a brilliant journey in Madrid. As most incredible things in life go, everything happened suddenly, unexpectedly, and it has ignited a fire of excitement within me. After a little over a year living in Spain, I am back in the Miami jungle with a novel worth of ideas.

I look forward to creating, developing, and sharing unique art with you that will share my story and pass along the inspiration. Determined for a new studio, new projects, and new art.

IF KARL LAGERFELD HAD AN ALTER EGO....

It would certainly be a Santa Pug....

Better hope you make it on the 'Nice' List because this year Santa Lagerfeld Pug is taking over, and he is ready to drop down the chimney in style and scatter Chanel and Fendi goodies all under your Christmas tree.

P.S. Leave behind some dog treats and milk- Highly recommended.
